Immigrants shouldn’t be able to cross into NM without our permission.  I’m glad our gov has made it illegal for them to do so. All the immigrants have to do is go through a process and get legal papers. Seriously, is it that hard to do?? I think we should gather up all the illegal immigrants and take them back to their home country, so they can get their legal papers. The question I have is why do they want to be in NM anyway? I could see if they came to NM to better their lives, but they don’t!! All they do is bring over drugs and crime with them. NM doesn’t want to be a part of that. Leave it in your own country!! What makes me so mad is when immigrants commit crimes; they just cross over the border back into their country, and get away with what they did. Cant they stay in their country and commit the same crimes?? I’m sure they can. Why do they bring it to NM? It’s not just NM that they do this to either, just to put that out there. So why do they bring it to NM?? I’m sure we are not any different than any other country so why do they want to bring it to NM?? So they should stay in their own country and kill their own people not our people!! I’m not saying immigrants are not welcome in NM, cause they are, only if they are legal. If you’re not a legal immigrant you should go back and get your papers, so you can be legal and you won’t be taken back to your home country.

ii think you are crossing that fine line and it is harder than you think to get your papers than you think. You have to do a test get a visa number and check out this link! This is some of the stuff they have through. then tell me if you understand how hard it is.

 If they cant handle the process of coming to another country then don’t come at all. I do understand that it might be harder for certain people to get into another country but they still do it right?? so why cant others??…  I’m sure its hard for them too, but they do it… So answer that qestion… ( why can some people do it and others can’t??)

for some people that are poor and have less money than others.then they dont speak english this can be a factor in this.i think were mad that they have some of our jobs and we cant get the job now

 It can be next to impossible for many immigrants to go through the process.  Not only is it expensive, it takes years.  Many immigrants don’t have years to wait.  When our economy is bad, it is easy for us to make a scapegoat out of the immigrant population.  We want someone to blame, and they are an easy target.  I do believe that we need to reform immigration; however, I am against any program that seeks to treat undocumented immigrants as less than human.  The phrase “all men are created equal” does not refer only to U.S. citizens.  I disagree with the idea that illegal immigrants are criminals.  Most of them are not.  The violence and crime you speak of are directly related the “war on drugs.”  Maybe, if we really want to reduce the amount of illegal immigration, we should punish American companies that pay immigrants less than half of what a citizen would get.  Maybe we should put pressure on all the American companies that went to Mexico to pay their employees a living wage.  I don’t see that happening anytime soon.  As long as we benefit from cheap Mexican labor, i.e. paying 2.50 for a bag of onions instead of say 25 bucks, we are unlikely to have any meaningful immigration reform.   

I believe that they have just as much a right to be here as we do. Yes they should go through the process but, it cost and I believe that they give immigrants a harder time than other people from Canada so on and so forth. Yes some bring drugs and diseases but there are a lot very good, hard working immigrants that want to make something better for themselves and there family’s. We need to support them and show them that America is the American dream come true, and if we work with them we can stop the drug wars and the diseases that are crushing them. Like Obama tell America yes we can and we can all be happy.
